This Alliant Power fuel supply pump is used on the 1998.5-2002 Dodge pickups with the 5.9L Cummins ISB turbo diesel engine. It is designed with two bypass ports allowing fuel to freely flow to the injection pump if the supply pump motor should fail. This prevents the fuel from aerating which is one of the major causes of the VP44 injection pump failures. There is no need for an expensive in tank installation.
